Professor Jens-Christian Svenning is establishing Center for Biodiversity Dynamics in a Changing World based on a personal VILLUM Investigator grant from VILLUM FONDEN in Denmark. It is financed from 2017-2023. The Center will focus on improving our understanding and predictive capacity of the complex biodiversity dynamics under anthropogenic global change and their consequences for people and society, and to develop novel solutions to promote a biodiverse future. We will improve our ability to use the rapidly growing richness and quality of relevant Big Data (notably from remote sensing), and develop novel interdisciplinary approaches to understand how biodiversity and society interact and promote biodiversity in a changing, densely populated world.

The official inauguration of Center for Biodiversity Dynamics in a Changing World takes place on 9 November 2017 @ 14:00 – 16:30 at the Aula (Main Hall), Aarhus University, Nordre Ringgade 4, 8000 Aarhus C.

The event is held jointly with Bjørk Hammer, professor from the Department of Physics and Astrology, who also received a VILLUM Investigator grant in 2017.

The event is open to invited guests only.

If you have not received an invitation, but would like to participate in the inauguration, please contact Center coordinator Anne Blach Overgaard on anne.overgaard@bios.au.dk
